The media houses are bent on creating a mirage that so-called big political parties and bigwigs of tinsel world are figting for the Eelam cause in Tamilnadu. But in reality, Revolutionary organizations of Tamilnadu are the torchbearers in spreading the agony of Eelam People and exposing the treachery of the Indian State among the masses.
People’s Art and Literary Association(PALA) and its associate organisations are staging protest demonstrations all over Tamilnadu for the past one month. This movement carried forward the slogans that without smashing the Indian hegemony it’s impossible to resist the bleeding of the island and to support the self-determination right of Eelam Tamil people against the xenophobic Sinhalese state. While Karunanidhi Govt is trying to calm people with its unsuccessful relief material collection to Eelam, Revolutionary organizations stressed the need for political solidarity rather than philanthropy.

Hundreds of PALA, NDLF, RSYF and WLF comrades were arrested for encircling the Army Estate in Nandanam, blocking the Chennai Anna Salai on 08-10-08 at 10:00 AM. They raised slogans against the Indian State for accompanying the Sinhalese state im massacring the Eelam people and slogans exposing the Indian comprador class interests in Srilanka. The ballot box political parties and Tamil nationalist parties were pleading the Indian state with their hunger fasts and human chains, though, it’s a open secret that the same Indian state is the prime collaborator with the Sinhalese State. The encircling protest of PALA showed the right direction in which the resistance movement needs to build up.
Not only in Chennai, but members of the above said organizations staged protests in Tiruchy, Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Hosur, Dharmapuri and Cuddalore with huge participation of people. Propaganda stirred the trains, buses and streets of the cities where police denied the permission to stage demonstrations. Protest demonstrations continued at Thuraiyur, Krishnagiri and Chromepet on 17-10-08. A massive public meeting was organised at Tiruchy on 20-10-08. Com. Durai Shanmugam of PALA and Prof. Periyardasan spoke at the occasion amidst the thundering crowds. The movement is continuing with the massive support of vast masses and democratic forces of Tamilnadu.

It is disheartening to see some sudden supporters of Elam Tamils for the sake of drawing attention from media express shallow knowledge on the question of Elam Tamils. To bad things will happen out of it. Firstly the pain and torment of Tamils get a dark place. Secondly the real protesters would be sidelined.
